While taking my elderly mom out
our little dog was in
her lap and it jumped off
its claw scratched her hand
there was little blood at first
but her skin just peeled away
a hanging flap of old flesh
like a paper cover ripped off
they call it parchment skin
mom's skin like a mummy's
